OVERVIEW

Impact2 is a program developed by JFM Consulting Group that uses a friendly story-telling competition to provide an opportunity for Detroit’s nonprofit organizations to win up to $50,000 in a variety of bundled pro bono services from a number of local, high quality small business and entrepreneurs.

The goal is to help build the capacity of nonprofit organizations and to increase their impact in the community. Impact2 also provides a vehicle for engaging local businesses and entrepreneurs in supporting Detroit’s nonprofit community, and for demonstrating the measurable social impact that these businesses are making.

APPLYING

NONPROFIT APPLICANTS: Any 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in the city of Detroit is eligible to apply. Organizations that do not yet have 501(c)(3), but have been operating for at least two years may apply using a fiduciary. There are no restrictions in terms of annual budget. Nonprofit organizations that want to apply should use the link below to access the application. Applications will be accepted beginning November 1, 2016 through December 30, 2016. The competition will take place at the Impact2 Story Slam! in early 2017 at the Gem Theatre in Detroit.

SMALL BUSINESSES: Entrepreneurs and small businesses that are interested in providing pro bono services to the nonprofit winners of Impact2 should use the link below to complete a business profile application. Applications will be reviewed and matched with winning nonprofit organizations based on the needs of the organizations and the interests and qualifications of local businesses.

THE COMPETITION

Detroit-based nonprofit organizations may use the link below to submit applications online. Applications will be reviewed in late 2016, and five semi-finalists will be selected and invited to the Story Slam, where they will share compelling stories about the impact their organizations are making in the community. Attendees at the event and a panel of judges will vote for three Impact2 winners.

Each of the three winning organizations will receive a core set of services from JFM Consulting Group, up to $20,000 worth each, as well as up to $10,000 in services from multiple Impact2 business partners in areas such as marketing and communications, graphics design, fund development, event planning and board development, to name a few. Joining JFM in this venture are a variety of small businesses, including:
